Opera National Bucharest (2014-2016)
During Johan Kobborg's directorship the ballet company raised not only its National but International reputation and were as a result nominated for Company of the year 2015 in both Dance Europe magazine and the German Tanz magazine.
Company members and its audiences shared with
excitement, passion and renewed interest, the joy of the invigorated company and its new artistic path.
Individual artist were highly praised worldwide and amongst the many accolades were a 2015 Female Performance of the Year nomination by Dance Europe.
During his tenure Mr. Kobborg inspired company and individual artistic growth through performance opportunities and from collaborations with some of the worlds leading choreographers, teachers, ballet masters and guest artists.
Ticket sales doubled during his tenure.
Ballet studios and dancers' recuperation areas and spaces also saw a makeover during these years. Sprung floors were installed in all studios and on stage, and health specialists from abroad were for the first time introduced to the company.
While insuring continuity of the existing catalogue of established classical and contemporary productions he further enriched the repertoire with the following productions.
